Governmental Affairs 

Executive Committee
Officers of the Association meet monthly prior to the Board of Directors to review Association Business and refer items to the Board of Directors for consideration.

Parade of Homes 2006
Officiates the annual Parade of Homes event. This exhibit of members’ new homes to the public is the largest annual event of the year. Committee plans dates, advertising, rules & regulations, awards and the annual POH awards banquet. Meetings begin 5 to 6 months prior to the event. All members are welcome.

Membership Committee
Promotes & solicits new members. Committee conducts phone banks, one day membership drives and periodic contests. Meets once a month and is open to all members.

Education Committee
Aids in education members on current & upcoming legislative items, which concern the building industry. Meets as needed, all members are welcome.

Golf Tournament (Spring)
Golf Tournament (Fall)
Plans for Spring & Fall Golf Tournaments. Lines up sponsors, players, lunch arrangements, etc. Meetings begin three months prior to the tournaments all members are welcome.

Sales & Marketing Committee
Conducts seminars on and researches sales & marketing techniques, including interior merchandising to marketing strategies. Meets as needed, all members are welcome.

Spike Club
Works with membership & members services committee. Plans special fund events for Spikes only (spike status is earned by sponsoring 6 new members within a two-year period). Meets as necessary open to MCBA spikes.

Governmental Affairs
Meets as required to update and mobilize members concerning specific issues facing the industry. Keeps membership abreast of what’s happening on local & state legislative issues. All members are welcome.

Political Action Committee
Active during election years. Interviews candidates to determine who would be best to help our industry. Supports selected candidates via contributions. Meets as necessary.

Construction Industry Council
Conducts monthly meetings with local building officials to discuss codes regulations and/or problems in the industry. Meets the last Wednesday of each month at 4:00 PM. All members are welcome.

Associates Council
Plans for events such as Table Top Night, and Casino Fun Night to promote relations between Associate & Builder members. Meets as necessary, all members are welcome.

Nominating Committee
Interviews & nominates prospective candidates for the Board of Directors. Meets as needed.

By-laws Revision Committee
Oversees revision of association by-laws as needed. Meets as necessary.
Past Presidents Council
Serves as mentors to current officers. Helps with challenges & various association business. Members are comprised of Past Presidents & Past Associate Vice Presidents. Meets as needed.

Finance Committee
Reviews association financial statements. Make recommendations on the budget to the Executive Committee. Meets as needed.

Public Relations Committee
Promotes relations between the association, and politicians and various other organizations. Promotes association name recognition among the general public. Meets as needed, all members are welcome.

Building Steering Committee
Coordinates fund raisers in order to raise funds for the new building. Meets as needed, all members are welcome.

Fall Showcase of Homes
Plans the annual Fall Showcase of Homes event. . This event exhibits member’s new homes to the public. Meeting as required to arrange dates, rules, and regulations.

Industry Issues Fund
Seeks donations to the fund, which enables the association to fight on issues that affect our industry. Meets as needed, all members are welcome.
Fishing Tournament
Plans and organizes fishing tournaments. Lines up sponsors, fishermen, location etc. Begin meeting approximately 3 months prior to tournament. All members are welcome.

Member Services Committee
Contacts members on a monthly basis to promote association, and encourage retention. Introduces new members at meetings. Meets on the third Thursday of each month, all members are welcome.
